About the Job:
The Coeur Rochester mine located in Nevada, approximately 25 miles from Lovelock, Nevada, is seeking a Drill & Shovel Mechanic to join the team. Hourly Rate Range: $41.30 - $45.82
Sign-On Bonus: $5,000
Responsibilities:
- Must have general knowledge and experience of maintaining Blast hole Drills, Hydraulic Shovels, and various support equipment. Preferable working knowledge of Komatsu and Hitachi face shovels, Epiroc and Cat drills
- Must be able to performs system diagnostics, on hydraulic, Air, lube and electrical 12/24 volte systems
- Be able to perform repairs but not limited to component replacements on GET, hydraulic pumps, and motors, engines, air ends, gear boxes, undercarriage, compressors, auto lube, hydraulic valves, and hoses
- Must have experience with building hydraulic hoses
- Must have experience with prioritizing and making decisions regarding equipment repairs as needed
- Must have experience performing mechanical and lubrication PM's, to include inspections of equipment to check and identify any mechanical and electrical risks
- Responsible for accurate troubleshooting and parts ordering, but not limited to accurate completion of work orders as assigned
- Must be willing to train and mentor other technicians
- May be required to operate equipment such as: forklifts, auto cranes, boom trucks and other small mobile equipment
- Knowledge of work management systems
- Knowledge of planning and scheduling for major PCR activities
Physical Requirements:
- Follow all procedures and safety measures to assure safe production
- Work in all conditions and environments, approximately 80% of job is outdoors
- Able to lift 75 lbs. on an occasional basis
- Able to walk up and down slopes and uneven ground daily
- Able to ascend and descend ladders daily
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Certification/Degree in Heavy Equipment Mechanical Maintenance for a vocational tech school or equivalent preferred, or substantial technical background in surface mobile maintenance equipment, specializing in Shovel and Drill maintenance
- Five (5) years of demonstrated experience in mine equipment maintenance required
- Thorough understanding of standard maintenance and operational procedures, utilizing best practice and be able to complete tasks with guidelines stipulated by Coeur safety and environmental policies
- Ability to work collaboratively and use teamwork to solve problems
- Effective oral and written communication to include interpersonal and interviewing skills, involving sensitive and confidential matters
- Skill in managing multiple priorities and tasks concurrently and meeting deadlines
- Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands and able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events
- Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and monitors own work to ensure quality
- Ability to prioritize and plan work activity, uses time efficiently, and develops realistic action plans
- Skill in identifying and resolving problems in a timely manner and gathers and analyzes information
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with teams
Additional Information:
- Hourly Rate Range: $41.30 - $45.82 (DOE)
- Quarterly bonus up to $4,100 (up to $16,400 annually)
