The Water/Sewer System Supervisor serves as a working crew lead, responsible for both operational and supervisory duties. The incumbent is responsible for the oversite of daily operations, supervision and training of personnel, project coordination, regulatory compliance, customer service, and hands-on system maintenance. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following statements are illustrative of the essential functions of the job and do not include other nonessential or peripheral duties that may be required. Communicates daily with crew to plan, assign, discuss, and supervise daily work assignments, order supplies, schedule repairs, and completion of assigned work programs. Schedules and completes repairs and construction on water distribution and wastewater collection systems as needed including emergency main failure repairs, sewer backups, service line maintenance including meter infrastructure and curb stops, and all excavation, repairs and installation of water and wastewater collection system appurtenances. Assesses and addresses customer concerns including but not limited to, water quality, consumption, odors, pressure issues, and sewer backups. Acts with the customer in mind, responds to requests promptly and provides effective services or solutions for customers. Collaborates with contractors for water line shutdowns, valve operation, pressure/chlorine testing, main tapping, and CCTV inspections. Administers general routine maintenance programs; fire hydrants (maintenance, repair, and painting); water system control flushing; water meter, pit/vault and transponder maintenance; system research/mapping; lift station maintenance; problem area wastewater monitoring; management of sewer cleaning and inspection contract. Management of CDPHE compliance programs, including backflow, lead and copper, total coliform, and FOG. Reviews and recommends changes to water and wastewater system engineering drawings and works directly with Town engineering personnel and field contractors to inspect and accept projects for utilities. Coordinates projects with other Town departments for shared equipment, utility billing, and infrastructure projects. Assists with budget preparation and manages expenses for assigned work programs. Evaluates and requests budgeting for new equipment and safety needs by analyzing infrastructure equipment and material inventory. Documents and completes monthly and annual department progress reports. Formulates daily work orders and updates field data utilizing assigned programs. Must be available to carry a cell phone as assigned and respond to and manage emergency situations, whether in the regular workday or after hours. Provides field training including safety, equipment operation, and maintenance procedures. Assures appropriate personal protective equipment for assigned staff is utilized and enforces safety policies and procedures in the field. Develops and/or participates in the development of staff work plans, measures, and tracks progress towards goals, prepares and conducts timely and constructive performance evaluations. Coaches, counsels, and supports staff to maximize efficiency and effectiveness. Consistently educates and advises staff on organizational rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Acts as the manager in the absence of the Collections and Distribution Superintendent. Responds to on-call emergencies for water distribution or sewer collection infrastructure and facilities.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The work environment/physical activities described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of the job.
Work is primarily performed in both an office and fieldwork environment with low to moderate noise levels.
Physical effort and activities include driving a Town-owned vehicle to perform essential functions and to drive to and from business meetings.
Strenuous physical work with heavy lifting, pushing or pulling objects up to 100 pounds occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds frequently. The employee must frequently reach with hands and arms, stand, walk, bend, stoop, or kneel. On rare occasions, the employee may be required to climb, crawl and balance.

Must possess a valid Colorado Class A commercial driver s license and maintain a safe driving record throughout employment.
Five or more years of experience in Wastewater Collection, Water Distribution or related field.
CCWP Class 3 Certification in Water Distribution required. CCWP Class 4 Certification in Water Distribution preferred.
CCWP Class 2 Sewer Collection required. CCWP Class 3 Sewer Collection preferred.
Minimum of one year of supervisory or crew leader experience strongly preferred
