Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will act as a technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all aspects of aircraft Electrical Wiring and Interconnection Systems (EWIS) design development:
- Technical authority for the EWIS design
- System wiring diagram, harness assembly, and harness installation design requirements
- EWIS component qualification and selection
- Authoring test plans and procedures
- Authoring and approving design guidance documentation
- Perform design reviews ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with system, program and regulatory requirements
- Assist in the development of new processes and process improvement initiatives
- Provide technical guidance and mentor team members
- Effectively communicate EWIS system requirements to other engineering disciplines
- Lead the team in development of novel solutions to complex design and compliance issues
- Enforce adherence to established requirements, processes, and procedures
- Guide establishment of the EWIS product structure
- Participate in various working groups, trade studies, and review boards
- Act as the primary EWIS stakeholder during design reviews for other subsystems and IPTs
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Bachelor's of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or other related discipline and typically 14 or more years of relevant experience
- Higher education may substitute for relevant experience
- Expert in the requirements of 14 CFR, Part 25, Subpart H
- Broad experience in the development, design, test, and certification of original Type Designs (TC) and Supplemental Type Designs (STC)
- Able to effectively and clearly communicate complex regulatory requirements and solutions
- In depth knowledge of environmental electromagnetic effects and electromagnetic compatibility principles, as well as methods of protection and mitigation of those effects on EWIS.
- Extensive experience with system safety principles and hazard mitigation methods
- Highly skilled at analyzing and interpreting federal rules and regulations and how those principles apply to design
- Ability to understand complex program integration issues and how they may impact design workflow and schedule
- Familiar with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools (e.g. 3DExperience, Enovia SmarTeam, Teamcenter)
- Familiar with logical and harness design CAD tools (e.g. CATIA, ECAD, Capital Logic, HarnessXC, Zuken)
- Experienced with Model Based Design (MBD) methods and principles
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Prior technical leadership experience
- CAMEO experience
- Requirements management in JAMA
- Dassault Systems 3D Experience
- Prior experience assisting in the development of certification plans
- Prior experience showing compliance to FAA regulations
