Position Summary:
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Mechanic will be based at our Lockland, Ohio facility. The primary responsibility of this role is to troubleshoot and repair mechanical and basic electrical issues that arise during the course of a manufacturing shift. In addition, the Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance (PMs) and equipment inspections as assigned by the Maintenance Manager, and for completing additional work as directed by the Shift Supervisor to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations.
Responsibilities:
- Comply with safety rules and regulations, attends safety meetings and training, inspects work area for hazards/deficiencies and initiates actions to correct them. Reports injury/illness and/or environmental incidents.
- Troubleshoot and repair rotating equipment, pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical power distribution, packaging equipment, and utilities to the plant.
- Perform and document routine PMs and all daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual inspections of production and packaging equipment.

- Assist the Shift Supervisors in meeting the daily goals as established by Plant Manager.

Required Experience:
- A minimum of five years as a Maintenance Mechanic or Maintenance Certificate from accredited program.
- Familiarity with industrial electrical maintenance and general aptitude for mechanical troubleshooting.
- Basic Word and Excel knowledge
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with batch processing and milling operations.
Hours/Shift:
- Must be able to work second or third shift as assigned.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed to support production demands.
- Consistent and reliable attendance is required to meet operational needs.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand and walk for 810 hours per shift on concrete floors.
- Frequent reaching, bending, stooping, and twisting.
- Regularly required to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 lbs . , and occasionally up to 55 lbs.
- Must be able to climb under, and into equipment as required to perform troubleshooting and repairs.
- Manual dexterity to operate hand tools, machines, and computers.
- Must have adequate vision to inspect parts and read instructions (corrective lenses permitted).
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders as needed.
Work Conditions:
- Exposure to varying temperatures (hot, cold, humid) depending on season and location.
- Moderate to loud noise levels requiring hearing protection in designated areas.
- Work involves proximity to moving mechanical parts, forklifts, and production equipment.
- May involve occasional exposure to dust, fumes, or chemicals, with appropriate PPE provided.

- Shift assignments are awarded through the job bid process and based on seniority.
