Job Description:
Key Responsibilities
- Field Oversight: Supervise contractor crews and ensure work aligns with approved construction plans and standards. Conduct routine site inspections and safety checks.
- Quality Control & Documentation:
Perform QA/QC activities, maintain accurate project records, and support invoice processing and approvals. - Scheduling & Coordination:
Assist with field scheduling, vegetation management planning, and coordination of materials and resources. - Contractor Interface:
Serve as the primary field contact for contractor supervisors and foremen throughout project execution. - Stakeholder Engagement:
Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., Safety, Engineering, Energy Control Center) and external stakeholders to resolve issues and minimize delays. - Technical Interpretation:
Review and apply work orders, engineering drawings, permits, and easements to guide field activities. - Emergency Response Support:
Participate in storm restoration and emergency operations as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in electric utility construction or maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of transmission and distribution systems, underground networks, and substations.
- Familiarity with utility asset inspection programs and health assessments.
- Proven experience in contractor coordination and performance evaluation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Access, Word, MS Project).
- Experience with SAP or similar enterprise systems.
Skills & Attributes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to convey technical information to diverse audiences.
- Strong collaboration and cross-functional teamwork capabilities.
- Physically able to walk distribution lines and remote transmission rights-of-way.
