Job Description

Works on construction projects, usually working in utility capacity, by transferring from one task to another where demands require worker with varied experience and ability to work without close supervision by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Fitter/ Welder with morning safety paperwork.

  • Signals operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery to conform to grade specifications.

  • Material handling pipes, fittings and other various construction related material.

  • Position, joins, aligns, and seals pipe sections

  • Cut, Grind, Bevel and clean piping material.

  • Assist in installing piping in modules, bolt up flanges, and supports.

  • Basic rigging and hand signals.

  • Jobsite clean up throughout the day or as needed.

  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

  • Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit's success also may be assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

  • Minimum one (1) year construction laborer experience.

  • Driver's License and an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible under company vehicle insurance policy preferred.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

The employee is occasionally required to sit. Steel toed boots required on the job.

The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
