Responsibilities
- Meet with general superintendent and assist project superintendents with the project 'office-to-field' handoff meeting.
- Proactively monitor and ensure profitable operations on a project-by-project basis.
- Establish, update, and monitor all project budgets and schedules before the pre-construction conference or handoff meeting.
- Perform site visits to evaluate project status, progress, safety, quality, and profitability.
- Prepare accurate and timely submittals for construction projects and administer during the construction process.
- Ensure timely completion of close-out documents.
- Facilitate the completion of necessary sub-tiered subcontractor's contracts and verify all pricing, scope, schedule, and insurance.
- Report project updates and performance with management.
- Review and complete necessary forms such as subcontractor or supplier lists within the general contractor agreement.
- Prepare schedule of values and review contract for scope of work and contract price.
- Prepare pre-construction checklist.
- Monitor Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and extra work reports.
- Review updated drawings for changes to work and write requests for change orders as necessary.
- Work with operations manager to align project resources, schedule, and manpower to achieve desired goals.
Essential Skills
- 1-4 years of construction project management experience.
- 2-year degree, preferably related to construction or civil engineering, OR 2+ years of experience as a construction project manager.
- Leadership and time management skills to serve as a daily point of contact between General Contractors, Owners, Engineers, Architects, Vendors, and Suppliers.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Basic computer skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in construction management or civil engineering is a plus.
- Experience in construction project management and concrete is advantageous.
- Ability to work on projects ranging from $10,000-$3 million, primarily in the commercial sector.
