We are currently searching for an experienced Roadway Engineer to support our Southeast Region located in Miami, FL or Fort Lauderdale, FL .

To be considered for this position, applicants must have, at minimum, a BS degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.

The ideal candidate will assist their department by performing engineering-related tasks including research, development, design and delivery on assigned project(s).

What you ll be doing:

Contributes to the preparation or modification of reports, plans and designs for projects

Assists in the preparation of project quantity and cost estimates

Participate in the collection and analysis of data and preparation of satisfactory designs

Perform design calculations and conduct investigative analyses toward completion of assigned design tasks, and direct preparation of design specifications

Perform quantity estimates, detailing and check calculations and drawings

Organize scheduling of specific tasks and assignments

Performs other duties as assigned

What you need to have:

BS degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university

Professional Engineering License in the State of Florida

6 - 8 years of experience in roadway design

Proficient with Bentley OpenRoads Designer

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment. Volkert adheres to federal guidelines, which may include testing for substances such as marijuana. Please note that federal regulations may differ from state-specific guidelines.

Valid driver s license.

A satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR).
