Power Plant Coal Yard Operator Location: Chouteau, Oklahoma (Mid America Industrial Park) Job Type: Contract to Hire Shift: Rotating 24/7 Shifts Job Description Join a dedicated team at a commercial multi-unit power generation facility. As a Coal Yard Operator, you'll play a key role in supporting plant operations by safely operating industrial and heavy equipment, responding to alarms, and performing maintenance tasks. This is an entry-level opportunity with room for growth in a dynamic, environmentally conscious workplace. Key Responsibilities Operate and monitor Heat Recovery Steam Generators, Combustion Turbines, Boilers, and Steam Turbines. Perform emergency procedures to maintain electric service and protect equipment. Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems. Inspect plant facilities and report anomalies or upset conditions. Maintain compliance through regular testing and documentation. Operate mobile equipment (dozers, haul trucks, water wagons) and stationary systems (conveyors, stacker/reclaimer, railcar dumper). Maintain accurate logs and follow plant procedures. Required Skills & Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent. Willingness to work rotating shifts, extended hours, and respond to emergency call-outs. Basic understanding of industrial machinery and heavy equipment. Strong teamwork, communication, and reliability. Familiarity with combustion principles, safety protocols, and lockout/tag-out procedures. Physical Requirements Ability to walk/stand on uneven surfaces and climb ladders or scaffolding. Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. and operating emergency equipment. Must wear required PPE (hard hat, FR clothing, steel toe boots). Why Join Us?
