Summary

Operational Leadership & Execution

  • Responsible for leading day-to-day operations of hydro testing .
  • Manage the teams daily shift kick-off meetings , communicating goals, performance expectations, and safety topics.
  • Ensure hydro testing activities meet quality assurance (QC) standards , customer specifications, and schedule commitments.
  • Review job scope and communicate hydro durations to the Fabrication Planner; attend pre-fabrication meetings, KPI meetings, & WIP discussions to align project requirements.
  • Support the coordination of transport and scheduling of spools and vessels to/from PWHT vendors in alignment with welding, planning, and QA/QC teams.
  • Support the coordination movement between Fabrication, NDE, Hydro, and Paint areas.
  • Support the Post-Fab Senior Supervisor in maintaining departmental workflow and resolving cross-department bottlenecks.
Principle Responsibilities and Duties

Team Management & Development

  • Provide direction, feedback, and accountability for team members, including leads and technicians.
  • Review and approve time entries in WFS , ensuring accuracy in pay details, cost centers, and compliance with deadlines.
  • Assist with hiring processes, including resume review, interviews, and testing of candidates.
  • Recommend pay or level adjustments based on skill advancement or merit.
  • Communicate regular performance feedback and manage disciplinary issues in coordination with HR and the Post-Fab Senior Supervisor.
  • Ensure fair and strategic vacation planning to maintain operational capacity.

Process & Performance Improvement

  • Identify and implement training programs , SOP improvements, and cross-training opportunities.
  • Drive 6S and Safety Program participation and accountability within the Hydro department.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, deviations from schedule, and quality or safety incidents.
  • Monitor and maintain calibration and proper functioning of all tools and equipment in the hydro area.
  • Recommend and support process enhancements to increase efficiency and reduce nonconformance or rework.

Cross-Functional Communication

  • Communicate professionally and effectively with key departments including:
    • Quality Control (QC)
    • Authorized Inspector (AI)
    • Planning, Engineering, and Design
    • HR, HSE, and Warehouse
    • Third-party vendors and inspectors
    • Provide timely updates to the Post-Fab Senior Supervisor on team performance, schedule deviations, resource constraints, or escalated issues.
    • Maintaining calibration & maintenance of tools and equipment in the assigned area.
    • Ensuring your immediate work areas are kept clean and organized and that the needed equipment is available and in good working order.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • Two-year technical diploma/vocational certificate desired
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant industrial experience
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
  • Knowledge of ASME codes a plus
  • Must have knowledge of fabricating pipe spools and/or pressure vessels.
  • Must be able to read and interpret and work from engineering drawings.
  • Proficient computer knowledge with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, etc.) and email
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
  • Previous experience leading teams of 10+ people is a plus.
  • Demonstrable ability to lead and facilitate instructions to others.
  • Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Physical Requirements

Industrial environment. This role will require a large amount of standing, bending, squatting, lifting, and walking on a constant basis.
