Job DescriptionPOSITION: Equipment Operator
DEPARTMENT: Operations
REPORTS TO: Team Leader
SUPERVISES: N/A
FLSA STATUS: Nonexempt
Responsibilities
Operate various construction equipment
Perform service, safety checks, check oil and fluids, and minor repairs on equipment
Work with maintenance crew or laborer crew when not operating equipment
Comply with proper safety standards and expectations
Visually assess digging areas to ensure it has been properly staked/located prior to digging
Safe operation of directional drills, trenching, or excavating equipment when needed
Perform laborer requirements and responsibilities as needed
Perform other duties as required and/or assigned
Requirements
Valid drivers license
Class A license or permit Desired
Able to perform safe work practices daily
Able and willing to work outdoors, run back yard machine, digger derrick truck, mini excavator, backhoe, working with underground and overhead crews, pulling wire, burying conduit, assisting setting transformers and poles.
Able to lift, push, pull and carry at least 75 lbs. for a distance of 300 feet
Able to perform physically demanding tasks
Able to work some nights and weekends
Working Conditions
This job operates in a field environment. This role routinely requires extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, lifting in awkward positions, standing, and twisting. Also, this role works in inclement weather conditions, such as extreme heat, extreme cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind.
