POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a Project Manager to lead and execute small modifications and capital expenditure (CapEx) projects across operational and laboratory/office environments. This role is ideal for a hands-on, detail-oriented professional with a strong background in engineering, facilities upgrades, and project delivery in regulated or technical environments. The ideal candidate will be adept at managing multiple concurrent projects, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing operations.

WORK LOCATION:

This role may require travel to client sites up to 100%, depending on project needs and client expectations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage small to mid-sized CapEx and facility modification projects from planning through execution and closeout.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders, contractors, and vendors to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
  • Oversee construction and installation activities in active facilities, ensuring minimal operational disruption.
  • Lead project scoping, budgeting, scheduling, and procurement efforts.
  • Review and manage technical documentation, including MEP drawings, specifications, and submittals.
  • Support commissioning and turnover of building systems such as HVAC, UPS, lab gases, RODI, boilers, and others.
  • Conduct site walks, identify field issues, and implement corrective actions.
  • Facilitate daily or weekly project meetings, track progress, and maintain documentation including daily reports and photos.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and collaborate with EHS teams on permitting and hazard analysis.
  • Act as the owners representative, ensuring alignment with client goals and standards.
  • Utilize project management tools such as ProCore, E-Builder, and MS Project to track and report on project status.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

Education :

  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • PMP Certification or equivalent is a plus.

Experience :

  • 7+ years of experience managing technical or facilities-related projects, ideally in biotech, pharma, or lab environments.
  • Proven track record of delivering small to mid-sized CapEx projects in operational settings.
  • Experience with commissioning, equipment installation, and facility upgrades.
  • Familiarity with CMMS systems such as Maximo or Blue Mountain and construction safety documentation.
  • Strong understanding of building systems and infrastructure in regulated environments.

Skills and Abilities :

  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with competing priorities.
  • Proficiency in project management and construction software.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Physical Demands :

  • Regular use of computer and office equipment.
  • Frequent walking and site inspections; occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to navigate active construction and operational environments.

Work Environment :

  • Combination of office and field environments.
  • May involve exposure to construction noise, equipment, and varying site conditions.

COMPENSATION:

The expected salary range for this position is $114,000 to $143,000. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
