A Brief Overview

The Construction Draw Assistant Supervisor is responsible for assisting in the oversight of the day to day operations of the Construction Draw team. This position utilizes strong department knowledge to support the draw team by providing experience and oversight on complex issues. The Assistant Supervisor will collaborate with leadership to develop and implement department processes and strategies.

What you will do

  • Assist in oversight of the day to day operations of the Construction Draw team
  • Collaborate with leadership to assist in development and implementation of department processes and strategies
  • Act as a point of escalation of issues that may arise with external customers and internal stakeholders
  • Aid in leadership of department projects and contribute on enterprise-wide projects
  • Assist in evaluation of internal productivity, service, and quality goals and objectives; ensuring that they support strategic objectives
  • Monitor construction portfolio allowing efficient processing of high volume of construction loan draws while maintaining an acceptable level of risk to the bank
  • Assist in managing construction draw pipelines and delegate construction draw files to staff
  • Review and provide feedback to staff on draws as needed
  • Lead the execution of department quality control processes
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of Construction Lending policy and procedures
  • As needed, review and process draw request for complex and multiphase commercial construction loans to ensure proper documentation and completeness, and initiate the disbursement of funds
  • Create a positive, engaging, and supportive team environment that promotes equity and inclusion
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned
  • Understand and comply with all provisions of the Safety in the Workplace policy

Supervises the work of a group of direct reports. Responsible for performance management and evaluations; hiring and staffing, scheduling. Enforces policies and procedures. Directs day-to-day work of employees, through supervision of lead staff or directly. Supervisory responsibilities may be limited to a specific shift or a portion of a function, facility or location. May assist with training and payroll. Coaches and develops staff.

Minimum Requirements

  • Typically requires a minimum of 1 year of related functional experience or prior supervisory experience

Preferred Requirements

  • Prior construction loan experience

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Ability to develop coaching and mentoring skills
  • Ability to think critically, solve problems, make decisions, and/or escalate situations when appropriate
  • Ability to manage external customer relationships and internal stakeholder relationships
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills
  • Strong knowledge of FirstBank Loan Policy and products
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, specifically in Excel
  • Strong ability to navigate various bank and loan applications and systems
  • Excellent knowledge of internal loan guidelines and regulations
  • Ability to recognize inefficiencies and offer suggestions to improve processes

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

  • Frequently remains stationary throughout a typical business day
  • Frequently operates a computer and other office machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer
  • Occasionally moves about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, and other rooms
  • Occasionally positions self to access drawers and shelves of various heights
  • Frequently reaches for and handles paperwork and files
  • Constantly communicates with customers, coworkers, and management in-person and on the phone
  • Must be able to exchange accurate information
  • FirstBank does not currently offer fully remote positions, except as required by law. The actual number of in-office days that may be required will vary by business unit, role, and business need.

Salary Range

$29.95 Per Hour to $40.00 Per Hour
