We are looking for a talented Water/Wastewater Senior Project Manager, to be based out of our Cincinnati, OH MSDGC Client Program Management Office, that wants to be part of a purpose-driven organization that is focused on helping our clients, colleagues and communities thrive. As a key member of our team, you will serve as Senior Project Manager or Deputy Project Manager providing strategic and tactical leadership for high-impact wastewater infrastructure projects, including pumping stations, conveyance systems, and wastewater treatment facilities. These projects are part of the Phase 2B Plan of the Wet Weather Improvement Program (WWIP), implemented under the County/City Global Consent Decree. With seven capital improvement projects totaling an estimated $1.3 billion in value over the next ten years, this program stands out for its scale, complexity, and interdependence. Several projects will be delivered through a progressive design-build methodology, offering a dynamic and collaborative project delivery environment.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership for project execution and client relationship management in the Greater Cincinnati region performing a variety of tasks to plan, execute and deliver these consent decree driven projects.
  • Support Stantec's Cincinnati Project Delivery Leader and team in delivery of our program delivery services as needed.
  • Participate in all phases of project delivery (e.g., planning, design, construction, and closeout).
  • Provide timely project advice, guidance, and decision support for the proactive identification of upcoming challenges and means for their efficient resolution at the project, portfolio, or program level.
  • Forecast trends and identify timely mitigation and/or recovery options for consideration.
  • Meet project governance, contractual, budget, schedule, risk, quality, and related performance requirements during the planning, design, and construction project delivery phases to achieve overall Program objectives.
  • Plan, organize, and manage the production of project deliverables to ensure on time delivery, technical quality and within budget.
  • Prepare technically evidenced proposals as project issues arise with clients, contractors, equipment suppliers/vendors or reviewing agencies.
  • Execute multiple concurrent projects efficiently.
  • Effectively apply industry standards as well as client standards and requirements
  • Work with project teams to coordinate permits for projects, which may require meetings with clients, contractors, utility companies, and reviewing and permitting governmental agencies.
  • Mentor developing professionals to guide their career development objectives.
  • Review team's work and provide technical guidance on design approach and challenges.
  • Perform on technically complex projects and act as a technical and strategy resource by providing guidance to other team members.
  • Conduct work in a safe manner and promote health and safety within the office and outside of the office while visiting clients and job sites.
  • Participate in local and national professional associations and organization events aligned with Stantec's growth strategy.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Collaborative team player capable of building relationships both internally and externally
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Proven ability to build consensus and cooperation with staff at all skill levels.
  • Skilled at inspiring, motivating, and holding team accountable for delivery.
  • Experienced in civil engineering including water resources, water and wastewater utility business.
  • Experienced in client service management, interfacing with executive and governing body membership, and communication of engineering issues, concepts and strategies to identify critical client issues and needs.
  • Possess significant large project management experience, ideally with collaborative project delivery knowledge and experience.
  • Serve as an extension of client staff in carrying out activities and priorities.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, or Civil/Environmental Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Master of Science in Civil/Environmental, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering from an accredited institution preferred.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer, or the combination of education and experience to qualify for licensure within one year of hire.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in water/wastewater infrastructure project leadership and delivery roles
  • Experience with alternative project delivery methods preferred.
  • Must have good driving record and valid driver's license.

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.

Benefits Summary: Regular full-time and part-time employees (working at least 20 hours per week) have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health saving accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase program, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short-term/long-term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage and paid family leave. Regular full-time and part-time employees will receive ten paid holidays in each calendar year. In addition, employees will be eligible to accrue vacation between 10 and 20 days per year and eligible for paid sick leave (and if more generous, in accordance with state and local law).

Temporary/casual employees have access to 401(k) plans, employee stock purchase program, and paid leave, in accordance with state and local law.
