Estimator Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team and contribute to our precision metal fabrication and contract manufacturing services. This role involves generating accurate quotes, developing pricing models, and providing strategic insights to maintain our competitive edge in high-growth sectors such as medical, renewable energy, transportation, and telecom.

Responsibilities

  • Review customer drawings and CAD files to generate accurate quotes.
  • Convert quotes into production-ready documents and support quality assurance processes.
  • Develop pricing models and analyze profit margins to secure new work and strengthen partnerships.
  • Create and present estimates and proposals for new projects tailored to assigned customers.
  • Understand customer industries and market trends and share insights with the sales team.
  • Utilize ERP/MRP systems, preferably Epicor, for CRM and estimating tasks.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams to exceed customer expectations and support growth initiatives.
  • Suggest new services or products to expand market reach and communicate ideas to leadership.
  • Maintain consistent communication and responsiveness to evolving customer needs.
  • Provide monthly updates to sales leadership on customer status, new ideas, project progress, and feedback.

Essential Skills
  • 3-5 years of experience in sheet metal.
  • 1-2 years of estimating experience.
  • Proficiency in Epicor and estimating software.
  • Experience with CAD software.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Blueprint reading skills.

Work Environment

This position is based onsite in Bloomington. Candidates located closer to the Lakeville facility may eventually have the opportunity to work from there if desired. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $83000.00/yr.
