Job Summary:
The Resort Facilities Carpenter is responsible for performing skilled carpentry work throughout the resort's base area and on-mountain facilities. This role focuses on building, repairing, and maintaining structures and fixtures using both in-house resources and outside contractors when appropriate. The position supports resort operations by ensuring buildings, guest spaces, and infrastructure remain safe, functional, and visually appealing.
Essential Functions:
- Complete carpentry work orders for Lodging Operations, including repairs and improvements to guest rooms, common areas, and facilities
- Perform carpentry-related work orders for other resort departments as needed
- Build, repair, and maintain structural and finish carpentry elements such as decks, railings, doors, trim, siding, flooring, framing, and cabinetry
- Construct and repair on-mountain structures including signage, fencing, platforms, and small outbuildings
- Assist with renovation and remodeling projects within resort buildings and guest spaces
- Fabricate and install custom carpentry features for guest areas, events, and operational needs
- Perform seasonal inspections and preventative maintenance of wooden structures such as decks, stairs, and railings
- Work with outside contractors on carpentry-related projects when necessary
- Maintain tools, equipment, and an organized work area
- Follow all safety standards and building codes while completing projects
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or trade school certification preferred
- Demonstrated carpentry experience required
- Valid driver's license required
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques including framing, finish carpentry, and structural repairs
- Experience with building materials, fasteners, and construction methods
- Proficiency in the safe use of hand tools and power tools
- Ability to read basic plans, drawings, and work orders
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
Note:

Physical and Mental Demands:
Requires prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and lifting. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Work Environment:
Work is performed both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, including summer heat and humidity, and winter conditions such as cold temperatures, snow, wind, and ice. Work may take place on uneven terrain, ladders, scaffolding, or elevated work areas. Appropriate safety equipment will be provided as needed.
