Assistant Project Manager/Project EngineerJob Location: Livermore, CABase Salary: $100K-140KRequirements: 5+ years of Civil Construction experience across roadway and underground utility projects.Position Overview:We are seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager / Project Engineer to support delivery of civil infrastructure projects with an emphasis on water, sewer, utilities, roadway and highway construction. The role combines project management support and engineering responsibilities to help ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to quality and safety standards. The successful candidate will coordinate design and construction activities, communicate with clients and stakeholders, and provide technical guidance to field teams.Key Responsibilities:Support the Project Manager in planning, scheduling, budgeting and reporting for multiple civil infrastructure projects (water, sewer, utilities, roadway/highway).Prepare and review construction drawings, plans and specifications; coordinate revisions with design teams and consultants.Develop cost estimates, monitor project budgets and track project financials; assist with invoicing and change order preparation.Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors and field staff; perform periodic site inspections to monitor progress, quality and safety compliance.Respond to RFIs, prepare and process change orders, and maintain accurate project documentation and correspondence.Manage permitting and utility coordination tasks, including liaising with local agencies and utility owners.Use engineering software (Civil 3D, AutoCAD) and scheduling tools (MS Project/Primavera) to produce deliverables and track milestones.Support QA/QC activities and ensure construction work complies with project specifications, design requirements and applicable codes.Attend client meetings, provide progress updates and resolve technical or contractual issues in a timely manner.Mentor junior staff and provide direction on field engineering tasks, quantity calculations and as-built documentation.Qualifications:Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline; EIT or PE registration preferred.5+ years of relevant experience in civil infrastructure projects with exposure to water, sewer, utilities, roadway or highway construction.Experience in assistant project management duties: scheduling, estimating, change order management and contract administration.Proficient with AutoCAD/Civil 3D, MS Office (Excel, Word), and project scheduling software (MS Project or Primavera).BenefitsMedicalVisionDental401(k)BonusAnd More!
