Electrician

Summary
This role executes daily operations, as well as seasonal and annual maintenance tasks for all municipal properties. This role also involves providing support for school facilities, executing repairs and replacements of park and playground lighting/electrical equipment. This role is responsible for addressing various roadway features that require attention, such as streetlights, traffic cabinets/signals and fire alarm infrastructure. This role assists with electrical repairs and installations within the pump stations. Furthermore, This role implements the work plan associated with special events and actively engages in storm and ice events. Additional duties may be assigned.

Supervision
Supervision Scope: This role involves a range of diverse and significant responsibilities that necessitate a deep understanding of division operations, along with the ability to apply sound judgment and take initiative, especially in circumstances that lack clear guidelines or established protocols.

Supervision Received: Operates under the direct guidance of the Electric Superintendent, adhering to all applicable rules, regulations, and policies. Responsibilities involve the capability to execute operations, complete tasks independently, and adhere to schedules.

Supervision Given: May mentor, oversee, guide, and train new employees, cooperative students, or seasonal staff.

Assists in preparation cost estimates.

Equipment & Fleet Management

Ensure proper usage and storage of tools, fleet and equipment.
Operates light, medium, and heavy equipment, including commercial trucks.
Report equipment deficiencies to Electric Superintendent.
Operate and maintain specialized equipment.
Infrastructure Construction & Maintenance

Coordinates installation, testing and repair of wires, conduits, apparatus, fixtures, and electrical equipment for municipal and school facilities.
Oversees maintenance and troubleshooting of overhead and underground infrastructure for street, roadway, and parking lot lighting.
Executes maintenance and troubleshooting of overhead and underground infrastructure for traffic signals and traffic controllers.
Implements maintenance and troubleshooting of overhead and underground infrastructure for fiber optic cables and allied facilities.
Assists in troubleshooting electrical circuits, motors, pumps, generators.
Assists in the installation and maintenance of electrical equipment in sewer/water pump stations.
Coordinates installation of new utilities on streetscape projects.
Repairs, operates and maintains fire alarm aerial and underground infrastructure, master boxes, street boxes, radio boxes and receiving equipment.
Enforcement, Compliance & Safety

Follows electric permit conditions and requirements.
Maintain comprehensive understanding of local, state, and federal regulations.
