Junior Estimator - Commercial Construction
We're seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Estimator to develop accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial construction projects. In this role, you'll analyze plans and specifications, prepare material and labor take-offs, evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids, and assemble complete proposal packages. You'll work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients throughout pre-construction to support pricing strategy, value engineering, logistics planning, and risk assessment.
Key responsibilities include reviewing project documents, preparing RFIs, managing subcontractor prequalification, maintaining historical cost data, and building strong vendor relationships. You'll also participate in job walks, pre-bid meetings, and client presentations to ensure clear communication and alignment.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field
1-3 years of commercial construction estimating experience
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Procore, and estimating tools (e.g., BuildingConnected)
Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and codes
Ability to read plans/specs and analyze data effectively
Strong communication skills and familiarity with local subcontractor markets preferred
