We foster an energetic, supportive environment where talented professionals can grow and make a real difference.Position OverviewSeeking a Licensed Architect with specialized experience in K-12 education facilities and DSA (Division of the State Architect) regulations to lead design and documentation for public school projects. The role combines technical expertise in construction documentation and code compliance with project leadership, client management, and coordination across consultants and contractors. The ideal candidate is proficient in Revit, licensed with NCARB reciprocity, familiar with AIA practices, and experienced as a Project Architect on K-12 projects through DSA approval and construction administration phases.Key ResponsibilitiesLead design and production of architectural documents for K-12 projects, ensuring compliance with DSA, state and local codes, and accessibility standards.Manage the DSA submittal process, including preparation and coordination of plan checks, responses to comments, and closeout documentation.Serve as Project Architect and primary client contact for assigned projects, developing and maintaining relationships with school districts, administrators, contractors, and consultants.Produce and review construction documentation and specifications, ensuring clarity, constructability, and coordination with structural, MEP, civil, and landscape consultants.Develop and maintain Revit BIM models and standards; coordinate model integration, clash detection, and documentation workflows across disciplines.Provide construction administration services, including RFI review, submittal review, site observation, and preparation of field reports and contract modifications.Coordinate project schedules, budgets, and deliverables; mentor junior staff and delegate tasks to meet project milestones and quality objectives.Perform quality assurance/quality control on drawings and specifications to ensure accuracy and compliance with office and DSA standards.Stay current on K-12 program requirements, DSA policies, code updates, and best practices; lead internal training and knowledge sharing on DSA processes and Revit workflows.QualificationsLicensed Architect in CaliforniaDemonstrated experience with DSA process and approvals on K-12 projects, including plan checks and closeouts.5+ years as a Project Architect or equivalent experience leading K-12 design and documentation; experience with public school districts strongly preferred.Proficiency in Revit for architectural documentation, BIM coordination, and model-based delivery.Strong knowledge of construction documentation, detailing, specifications, and construction administration procedures.Familiarity with AIA contract documents, professional practice standards, and project delivery methods.Excellent understanding of building and accessibility codes applicable to educational facilities (CBC, CFC, ADA/Title 24 where relevant).Proven ability to manage project schedules, budgets, client expectations, and multi-disciplinary coordination.Effective written and verbal communication skills; experience mentoring junior staff and leading project teams.Detail-oriented, organized, and able to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.BenefitsCompetitive salaryBonusesPTOVacationMedical, Dental, VisionEducation AssistanceMuch more
