JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Vocational or technical coursework in commercial roofing technology, repairs, or maintenance is preferred.

Certification or Licensure: Must possess a valid state driver's license.

Skills: Demonstrates the ability to safely and effectively use a wide range of construction tools and equipment. Possesses leadership ability with strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Work Experience: Four years of experience in construction or commercial roofing preferred; an equivalent combination of vocational training and related experience may be considered.

PRIMARY DUTY:

This position is responsible for completing construction-related and commercial roofing maintenance work throughout the school district to support facility safety and operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Plans and performs duties as a construction technician in the maintenance of school district facilities, with an emphasis on commercial roofing needs.

Maintains and repairs all types of roofing systems throughout the district, including sealing and repairing leaks around rooftop equipment and HVAC units.

Responds promptly to emergency roof leaks and other roof-related

Maintains accurate records of materials used and time worked on assigned

Prepares and provides job status and progress reports as

Ensures work orders are accurately completed and submitted

Reports observed problems, safety concerns, or unusual conditions to the

Maintains assigned equipment, tools, vehicles, and work areas in proper working

The employee shall carry out such other and further duties, whether specifically listed above or not, as are assigned or required by such employee's supervisor, other appropriate school personnel, law board policy administrative regulation, department handbook, as are reasonably necessary to the efficient operation of the school system and its mission.

WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The work environment characteristics are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee must have the ability to climb ladders, and work in varying weather and environmental conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to walk, stand, and sit.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Occasional evening and weekend work. Overtime and night work are occasional but limited.
