Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Construction Estimator position in Aiken, SC.

Job Description:

The Construction Estimator is responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates, analyzing project plans, coordinating with subcontractors, and supporting bid strategies. This role requires strong analytical skills, field awareness, and the ability to balance precision with speed in a deadlinedriven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs, labor estimates, material costs, and equipment pricing for assigned projects.

Analyze drawings, technical documents, and scope requirements to identify risks, gaps, and cost drivers.

Develop complete bid packages, including pricing, clarifications, and valueengineering options.

Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate subcontractor and supplier quotes.

Support project managers with budget development, cost tracking, and forecasting.

Monitor material pricing trends, labor rates, and industry benchmarks.

Identify potential cost risks and propose mitigation strategies.

Work closely with project managers, engineers, and field teams to ensure estimates reflect realworld conditions.

Required Qualifications:

5+ years of experience as a construction estimator in commercial, residential, or industrial sectors.

Strong proficiency with estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, ProEst, Sage).

Solid understanding of construction methods, materials, and building codes.

Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.

Strong math, analytical, and problemsolving skills.

Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.

High attention to detail and accuracy under tight deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.

Experience with designbuild project delivery.

Familiarity with BIM tools such as Revit or Navisworks.

Experience estimating projects $5M-$50M+ in value.

Knowledge of local subcontractor markets and pricing trends.
