Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic

Heavy Equipment Rental and Sales company seeking an experienced Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic to join our team. We are looking for a motivated and dependable mechanic with strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems. Position will require applicant to perform field service repairs as well as service in the shop. 

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair heavy equipment, diesel engines, hydraulic and electrical systems
• Perfrom preventative maintenance and inspections on equipment and fleet vehicles
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic and electrical failures efficiently
• Repair and replace components including engines, brakes, suspensions, driveline and hydraulic components
• Use diagnostic software, schematics and testing equipment as needed
• Complete service calls and emergency repairs when required
• Maintain accurate repair records and communicate repair status with management
• Keep work area clean and follow all safety procedures

Qualifications

• At least 3 years experience working on heavy equipment, diesel trucks and fleet equipment
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical and mechanical troubleshooting
• Abilitiy to diagnose issues independently
• Experience with preventative maintenance programs
• Welding and fabrication experience a plus
• Must have own basic tools
• Strong work ethic, reliability and attention to detail
• Experience and knowledge of the following heavy equipment machines: Caterpillar, Komatsu and Hitachi Excavators, Wheel Loaders, Dozers, Aggregate Crushers and Screeners.
