Why This Job Is Different Weld precision components for U.S. Navy (NAVSEA) applications Work with high-quality materials including stainless steel, copper nickel alloys, and carbon steel See your work go from raw material to a finished product Stable, well-established company Job Summary Perform precision GTAW / GMAW welding on, tight-tolerance stainless steel components for heat exchangers and separators built to NAVSEA and ASME Code standards. This role demands careful heat input control to avoid warping or distortion on close-tolerance parts. Welders are responsible for their own fit-up, grinding and weld prep. Candidates with experience in military or ASME Code welding environments will be strongly preferred. Essential Duties Perform precision GTAW / GMAW welding on, tight-tolerance stainless steel and other metal components to NAVSEA and/or ASME Code specifications Manage heat input carefully to minimize distortion and warping on close-tolerance parts Perform all fit-up, grinding, weld prep, and inter-pass cleaning on your own work Read and interpret engineering drawings, weld symbols, and welding procedure specifications (WPS) Perform fit-up, tacking, and final welding of pressure vessel components Maintain accurate weld documentation, traveler packages, and inspection records as required by Navy quality standards Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow all safety protocols Communicate with co-workers, supervisor, and quality personnel to coordinate activities Other processes (FCAW, SAW) may be required on non-Navy work as needed Other duties as assigned What We're Looking For 5+ years TIG welding experience with demonstrated proficiency on stainless steel Experience welding small, close-tolerance parts with strict heat input control Skilled in grinding, weld prep, and inter-pass cleaning NAVSEA welding certification a strong plus; other AWS or military welding certifications also valued Experience welding to ASME Code and/or military specifications Ability to read weld symbols and engineering drawings Experience with MIG welding a plus Detail-oriented with a commitment to meeting strict quality and documentation requirements Reliable transportation Pay & Benefits All required personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety gear is provided by AIM candidates must supply their own welding helmet.
