Assistant Project Manager

Our client is seeking a motivated Assistant Project Manager to support the delivery of large-scale water treatment plant construction projects based out of San Jose, CA. This role is ideal for a construction professional looking to grow their project management career while working on critical water infrastructure projects throughout California.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and executing water treatment plant construction projectsSupport day-to-day project operations, including scheduling, cost tracking, document control, and reportingCoordinate with engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, and ownersReview submittals, RFIs, change orders, and project documentationAssist with site meetings, progress meetings, and safety meetingsMonitor construction progress to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, safety standards, and schedulesSupport project closeout activities, including punch lists and documentationQualifications3+ years of experience working on water treatment plant construction projectsPrior experience on projects located in California is strongly preferredBachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)Strong understanding of construction means and methods for water and wastewater treatment facilitiesFamiliarity with project scheduling, cost controls, and construction documentation processesExcellent organizational, communication, and teamwork skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with project management or scheduling software is a plusAbility to work on-site in the San Jose area and travel to project sites as required
