Employment Status: Chapter 7 Ordinance, Non-Exempt, Seasonal (Hours As Needed/Varies)
Salary: $15.00/Hour
Schedule: Schedule: Mon - Fri, 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM

Certifications/Licenses Required: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or one to three (1-3) months related experience and/or training: or equivalent combination of education and experience.

SUMMARY

The City of Chicopee's Department of Public Works, Parks Division is hiring a Temporary Laborer who will be required to be an integral part of the maintenance division performing various job duties as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES INCLUDE:

Performs miscellaneous skilled and unskilled manual duties in the maintenance and care of recreation areas, athletic fields, athletic fields, park and playground equipment.
Lines playing fields.
Plants trees, shrubs, and flowers.
Replaces grass.
Repair fences, water fountains, drainage systems, swings, slides, and other playground equipment.
Paints and does other maintenance work.
Performs other related unskilled labor duties such as cleaning debris and leaf removal.
May also operate weedwhacker.
Tree cutting and removal.

QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or one to three (1-3) months related experience and/or training: or equivalent combination of education and experience. - Required
Some experience in maintenance work involving turf maintenance and other skilled/unskilled job duties. - Required
General knowledge or parks and recreation department operations. - Required
