POSITION SUMMARY:
The Painter is responsible for applying various types of liquid coatings, including primers, full metal jacket (FMJ) material coating, single-stage topcoats, base/clear applications and sand blasting of metals. This role requires the ability to work with minimal supervision while ensuring a high-quality finish on all products.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Apply primer and paint with minimal or no supervision.
Use and maintain tint/paint mixing equipment and systems.
Demonstrate strong knowledge of all products to be painted.
Operate and maintain paint equipment and booths in top condition.
Troubleshoot and maintain paint equipment as needed.
Operate spray guns efficiently to ensure proper application.
Solve paint-related issues and make necessary adjustments.
Adjust equipment to ensure optimal paint transfer.
Maintain a consistent and high-quality finish on all products.
Select and mix paint to achieve required colors, sheen, and thickness.
Participate in job rotation within the area of Paint Department.
Follow housekeeping, health, and safety standards.
Perform daily maintenance of assigned tools and equipment.
Support and adhere to all Lean and 5S initiatives.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
Previous automotive paint experience.
Physically capable of using safety equipment, such as a respirator, and other personal protective equipment.
Ability to read and follow intermediate measurements, possess elementary mechanical aptitude.
Attention to detail is a must.
Follow verbal and written instructions.
Good communication skills, ability to work with little supervision, and ability to work in a team environment.
