Assembler II Job Description The Assembler II performs a variety of tasks involved in assembling laboratory equipment and medical devices. This role follows detailed instructions and blueprints to build, test, and prepare products for shipment while maintaining high quality standards on an afternoon/evening shift schedule. Responsibilities Assemble laboratory equipment and medical devices by selecting, positioning, and securing components according to detailed instructions and blueprints. Use hand tools and mechanical tools such as drills, rivets, screws, and soldering irons to complete assembly tasks safely and accurately. Follow established assembly procedures to ensure products meet design specifications and quality standards. Test and inspect assembled units to verify proper function, performance, and conformance to requirements. Identify and report any defects, nonconformities, or assembly issues to support quality control efforts. Clean assembled units and prepare them for packing in accordance with established guidelines. Pack finished products securely to prevent damage during storage and shipment. Maintain a clean and organized work area to support efficient and safe operations. Adhere to all safety procedures, work instructions, and company policies throughout the assembly process. Essential Skills Hands-on mechanical aptitude with the ability to work with small and complex components. Proficiency in using hand tools and mechanical tools, including drills, rivet tools, screwdrivers, and soldering irons. Ability to read, understand, and follow detailed written instructions and blueprints. Attention to detail to ensure accurate assembly, testing, and inspection of products. Basic understanding of quality control principles as they relate to assembly and inspection. Capability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining consistency and accuracy. Ability to work effectively on an afternoon/evening shift from Monday to Friday, 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience assembling laboratory equipment, medical devices, or similar precision products. Familiarity with working in a regulated or quality-focused production environment. Comfort working with detailed documentation, such as work instructions and assembly drawings.
