Pay Rate:$30.00 to $35.00

Applied Materials is seeking a hands-on Engineering Technician to support engineering and manufacturing operations in Newburyport, MA. This role involves the build, test, troubleshooting, and rework of complex electro?mechanical semiconductor equipment in a fast?paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
Perform moderately complex electro?mechanical technical functions including design support, testing, checkout, fabrication, modification, troubleshooting, and assembly
Build, test, and repair electronics and electro?mechanical systems, experimental circuitry, prototype models, and specialized test equipment
Troubleshoot system?level and component?level electrical and mechanical issues
Support new system builds, NPI installations, and field upgrades
Interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, layouts, written procedures, and verbal instructions to perform testing and troubleshooting
Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, vacuum, and process testing on AMAT platforms per engineering and manufacturing documentation
Compile logbooks, test data, and job documentation with strong attention to detail
Perform rework and assist in root cause analysis; generate Quality Notifications as required
Work independently with minimal supervision and provide informal guidance to junior technicians

Physical Requirements
This is a physically demanding role requiring prolonged standing and walking; working in tight spaces; bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting, and reaching; climbing stairs and ladders; lifting; use of hand and power tools; operating forklifts and heavy machinery; ability to distinguish between colors; and comfort working in noisy environments. This role may involve work in a cleanroom environment and the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses, gloves, respirators, chemical aprons, and face shields.
