About Madrone

Madrone is a custom furniture and woodworking studio based in San Rafael. We design and build bespoke furniture and objects with a focus on craftsmanship, thoughtful design, and natural materials.

Were looking for a motivated junior woodworker / furniture maker apprentice to join the studio this summer. Experienced or seasoned woodworkers also welcome to apply. This is a great opportunity for a college student, recent grad, high school student interested in trades/design, or any trade proffesionals eager to learn or grow their woodworking and furniture skills.

Woodworking skills are a plus but not required reliability, curiosity, and willingness to learn are most important.

Responsibilities:

-Assist with furniture fabrication and assembly
-Sanding, finishing, material prep, and glue-ups
-Shop organization and maintenance
-Assist with deliveries/installations
-Learn woodworking tools, processes, and shop safety

Ideal Qualifications:

-Interested in woodworking, furniture, art, architecture, or design
-Woodworking or fabrication skills are a plus but not required
-Hands-on, detail-oriented, and dependable
-Positive attitude and eager to learn
-Available 24 days/week during summer

Details:

-Flexible part-time schedule
-Summer-focused role with potential to continue into fall
-Hourly pay based on experience
