Machine Operator Job Description This role supports the production of pre-cast concrete structures used for sanitation systems and storm drains. You will operate a heavily automated dry cast machine (Schlusselbauer) that forms concrete castings, using multiple controls and monitoring equipment to ensure consistent, high-quality output. Success in this position requires strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, industrial environment. Responsibilities Operate a heavily automated Schlusselbauer dry cast machine to produce pre-cast concrete structures for sanitation and storm drain applications. Set up, monitor, and adjust machine controls to maintain proper production parameters and ensure consistent quality of concrete castings. Perform general labor tasks related to concrete production, including blending, mixing, and handling materials as needed. Read and interpret blueprints and production drawings to understand specifications and dimensions for each product. Use measuring tools, including a tape measure, to verify dimensions and ensure products meet required tolerances. Safely operate heavy equipment such as forklifts and overhead cranes to move materials and finished products within the facility and storage areas. Inspect equipment and work area regularly, reporting any mechanical issues or safety concerns to the appropriate personnel. Follow all safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment at all times while working in a busy industrial environment. Maintain a clean and organized work area despite working in a dusty and dirty production setting. Collaborate with team members and leadership to meet production goals, support continuous improvement, and ensure efficient workflow. Work occasional Saturdays and adapt to changing production needs, including overtime when required. Essential Skills Proven machine operating experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting (experience must be outside of a medical environment). Strong attention to detail and the ability to retain and apply detailed instructions over time. Mechanical inclination, such as experience working on vehicles, assembling furniture, performing landscaping tasks, or similar hands-on activities. Blueprint reading experience, including the ability to interpret dimensions and production requirements. Ability to read and accurately use a tape measure for verifying product dimensions and tolerances. Willingness to work in a dirty, dusty industrial environment that can be chilly in the winter and warmer in the summer. Willingness to work occasional Saturdays in addition to the standard weekly schedule. Ability to safely operate or learn to operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other heavy equipment used in the facility. Commitment to following safety procedures and wearing required personal protective equipment at all times. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with general labor in a manufacturing, construction, or concrete production environment. Background in heavy equipment operation, crane operation, or forklift operation. Familiarity with concrete blending, mixing, and handling processes. Comfort working with automated machinery that uses multiple controls and settings. Interest in growing into leadership, supervisory, or specialized roles such as welding as opportunities arise. Work Environment The role is based in a large industrial facility that spans two buildings and includes an extensive storage yard. All production work takes place indoors, but the environment is dusty and dirty due to concrete manufacturing, and temperatures can be chilly in winter and warmer in summer. Safety is the top priority, with a strong safety culture and all required personal protective equipment provided, including fluorescent vests, safety glasses, hard hats, gloves, and ear plugs. You must provide and wear steel-toed boots with metatarsal guards. The position follows a 2nd shift schedule, typically 2:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., Monday through Friday, with some Saturdays required based on production needs. The work involves regular use of heavy equipment such as forklifts and overhead cranes, as well as interaction with automated machinery in a busy, production-focused environment. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Stacy, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
