Field Welder/$21-27hr/ Benefits Included Job Overview We are seeking an experienced and dependable Field Welder to join our team. In this role, you will perform on-site welding and fabrication of structural and miscellaneous steel components, ensuring all work meets required specifications, safety standards, and AISC code requirements. This position requires the ability to work in outdoor environments, read and interpret drawings, and execute high-quality welds with minimal supervision. Responsibilities Perform on-site welding of structural, plate, and miscellaneous steel components according to shop drawings and weld symbols. Interpret blueprints and field drawings to ensure accurate fabrication and installation. Follow AISC and AWS standards in all welding and fabrication tasks. Preheat and cut materials using a hand torch as needed. Clean welds by removing slag, spatter, and defects using grinders, wire brushes, and hand tools. Assemble and install steel components in the field according to project specifications. Identify and report discrepancies or errors in drawings before and during installation. Work safely at heights, in various weather conditions, and in active job site environments. Coordinate with supervisors and other trades to complete projects efficiently and on schedule. Essential Skills 5+ years of field welding or structural steel experience. Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and welding symbols. Proficient in measuring and layout using tape measures and basic tools. Solid math skills (Algebra and Geometry). Ability to pass AWS D1.1 weld certification with minimal assistance. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with MIG, Stick (SMAW), TIG, and flux-core welding processes. Experience in structural steel erection and field fabrication. Experience working on construction sites or in outdoor environments. Ability to operate cutting torches and related equipment.
