Senior Estimator - Heavy Civil

Senior Estimator - Heavy Highway & Bridge Construction Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to lead estimating efforts for large-scale heavy civil and design-build infrastructure projects. This individual will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for highway, bridge, roadway, and related public works projects while collaborating with operations, engineering, and executive leadership teams. Responsibilities Lead estimating efforts for heavy highway, bridge, roadway, and infrastructure projects Prepare conceptual, hard bid, and design-build estimates Review plans, specifications, geotechnical reports, and contract documents Perform quantity takeoffs and develop detailed cost estimates Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing Develop project schedules, production rates, and risk assessments Participate in preconstruction meetings, proposal development, and client presentations Collaborate with project management and field operations teams during project turnover Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving solutions Maintain strong relationships with owners, subcontractors, suppliers, and industry partners Qualifications 7+ years of estimating experience in heavy civil construction Strong background in heavy highway, bridge, DOT, and infrastructure projects Experience with design-build pursuits and alternative delivery methods preferred Ability to read and interpret civil plans, specifications, and contract documents Strong knowledge of construction means, methods, and production rates Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills Preferred Experience DOT, municipal, and federal project experience Experience estimating large-scale public infrastructure projects Knowledge of scheduling software and preconstruction planning Compensation & Benefits Competitive base salary Performance-based bonus opportunities Company vehicle or vehicle allowance Health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match PTO and paid holidays Long-term career growth with a stable and reputable contractor This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced estimator looking to step into a high-impact role with strong compensation, stability, and a consistent pipeline of work.
