Minnesota Power needs an Electrical Engineer II (Controls) to apply their technical expertise to our most complex substation projects from greenfield sites to critical system upgrades that will serve our region for decades.

What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an ABET EAC accredited program required.
- Four years or more of related engineering experience OR two years or more of related engineering experience PLUS an Engineer in Training Certificate in the United States.
- A masters degree in engineering may be equivalent for up to one year of related engineering experience.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
- Requires high level of interpersonal and communication skills to establish and maintain positive and productive working relationships.
- This position may be subject to assessment of skills, job match and/or aptitude.
What You'll Do
- Control design for substation projects from concept to completion, ensuring technical, safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Design substation control systems, including one-line diagrams, schematics, and necessary calculations.
- Serve as the technical expert for MV, HV, and EHV control systems and SCADA, providing guidance to internal teams, consultants, and vendors.
- Scope definition, estimating, equipment procurement.
- Resolve complex substation design challenges and apply standards such as NEC, NESC, IEEE, and NERC CIP.
- Collaborate across engineering, construction, and leadership teams to deliver reliable energy infrastructure.

The expected annual compensation range for this position is $82,000 - $102,000. Compensation offered to the selected candidate will vary depending on relevant knowledge, skills, training, experience, and market conditions.
