Industrial Electrician

Job DetailsDivision: Nucor Warehouse SystemsLocation: Houston, TX, United StatesOther Available Locations: N/ABasic Job Functions:Install and modify electrical machinery, equipment, and circuitry in industrial or commercial plantsMust know 3-phase electrical; up to 480 volts or more.Able to work with variable drives, read electrical schematics, work on conventional gas ovens.Diagnose cause of electrical or machine malfunctionsCollaborate with electrical engineers to solve developmental problemsWorking with programmable logic/automation controls.Ensure all electrical components adhere to standardsMechanical experience would be preferred; ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on presses, engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.

Be able to manage electrical controls, circuits, high voltage distribution, panels and knows principles of operating cranes.Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rulers, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.Maintains production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment.Other duties as assigned.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.Minimum Qualifications:3 years of experience as an industrial electrical technician in a manufacturing facility.3 years of experience programming PLC's.3 years of experience with VFD.

Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in engineering, industrial maintenance or comparable degree.Reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics.

Must have supervisor and/or manager recommendation and must be able to perform all essential functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
