Senior Estimator
LHH Recruitment Solutions is currently seeking a Senior Estimator with at least 5 years of experience working in a similar role. This is a Temp to Perm opportunity within the Commercial Construction industry, located in Baltic, CT.
Responsibilities:
- Produce detailed quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and project budgets for a wide range of commercial developments, including office, retail, healthcare, education, industrial, and multifamily projects
- Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and supporting documents to develop accurate and well-supported estimates
- Manage the estimating effort for multiple projects at once, ensuring precision, consistency, and on-time completion
- Request, analyze, and level subcontractor and supplier pricing; prepare scope documentation and confirm full trade coverage
- Partner with architects, engineers, and owners during preconstruction to deliver cost guidance, value engineering solutions, and constructability input
- Build, maintain, and refine unit pricing libraries and historical cost data to support future estimates
- Support the development of proposals, bid submissions, and presentation materials for both competitive bids and negotiated work
- Review estimates prepared by junior team members, providing feedback, quality control, and ongoing mentorship
- Participate in turnover meetings to ensure a smooth transition from preconstruction through project execution
- Stay current on industry trends, construction methods, materials, and market conditions that influence pricing
Experience:
- Minimum 5-10 years of estimating experience, preferably in construction
