The Project Engineer (PE) provides essential technical and administrative support to the Project Manager, Assistant Project Manager, and field leadership teams. The primary responsibility of the PE is comprehensive document control, along with coordination, communication, procurement support, and tracking of project activities. PEs support multiple concurrent projects, ensuring accurate documentation, timely processing of project information, and strong communication among all project stakeholders.

- Prepare, review, process, and track:
- RFIs
- Submittals and Long-Lead Equipment
- Shop Drawings
- Contract Documents
- Change Proposals & Change Orders with PM oversight
- ASIs, A/E Reports
- Punch List documentation
- Closeout documentation
- Maintain and update all project logs, including:
- RFI Log
- Submittal Log
- Specifications Log
- Plan & Document Distribution Logs
- Permit Log
- Change Proposal Log
- Change Order Log
- Addenda Log
- Issue List
- Closeout Log
- Safety Log
- Claims Log
- Contingency Log with PM oversight
- Maintain accurate and organized project files.
2. Project Coordination
- Support the PM/APM and project team in all phases, including preconstruction, estimating support, construction, and closeout.
- Assist with meeting preparation, attend OAC and internal meetings, and produce agendas and accurate, timely meeting minutes.
- Assist with procurement by soliciting subcontractor bids and tracking material deliveries.
- Maintain relationships with Owners, Subcontractors, Consultants, and Design Teams.
- Support project schedule development and updates.
3. Field & Site Support
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress (as requested), gather field information, and assist with quality control.
- Support enforcement of site safety protocols and documentation.
- Assist field teams in understanding plans, specifications, and updated documents.
4. Cost Management & Reporting
- Assist with budget tracking and cost management.
- Support preparation of Owner billings and subcontractor change orders.
- Assist in final cost reconciliation and project financial closeout.
- Contribute to project cost reports and monitor potential cost impacts.
5. Project Closeout
- Manage and complete the project closeout checklist.
- Assist with punch list management and turnover packages.
- Prepare closeout manuals, warranties, O&M documentation, and archive project files.
- Participate in post-project reviews.
Education & Knowledge
- Recommended degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or Engineering.
- General understanding of architectural, structural, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, fire life safety, and fire protection systems.
- General knowledge of estimating and construction processes.
Skills & Abilities
- Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
- Ability to support multiple projects with varying levels of complexity.
