Senior Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Sr. Mechanical Engineer to join a growing engineering and manufacturing organization specializing in industrial systems and custom project delivery. The business operates across two primary divisions:

• A project engineering group that converts externally developed general arrangement (GA) designs into detailed shop models and fabrication drawings.
• A manufacturing division focused on delivering complete wastewater treatment systemsfrom initial specifications through design, modeling, and fabrication.

This is a highly collaborative role with strong exposure to both engineering and operations, as well as direct customer interaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform engineering design calculations and review technical specifications
• Determine system requirements including belt sizing and hydraulic pressures
• Develop detailed drawings and models following customer approval
• Review and check drawings produced by other engineers/designers
• Collaborate closely with operations and engineering teams
• Evaluate and implement design and specification changes
• Act as a point of contact for customer communication, treating internal stakeholders with the same level of service
• Conduct occasional site visits/inspections as required

• Extensive experience in mechanical engineering and mechanical design
• Proficiency with:
  • AutoCAD
  • Autodesk Inventor
  • Autodesk Vault
• Strong understanding of fabrication drawings and shop modeling
• Proven ability to work in a customer-facing environment

• Professional Engineer designation ( P.Eng. ) not required
• Experience with industrial systems, manufacturing, or wastewater treatment projects

• Outgoing and communicative personality able to bring energy and engagement to a collaborative team
• Comfortable interacting with both technical teams and customers
• Strong attention to detail with a hands-on, problem-solving mindset
• Experienced enough to operate at an expert level with minimal oversight

• Based in British Columbia, with engineering and design functions centralized locally
• Interaction with broader business units, including a sales-focused team in another region.
• Combination of office-based design work with occasional site exposure.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Surrey, BC.

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00/hr.
