Fabricator Job Description A successful applicant will conduct metal fabrication and welding daily, primarily working with steel. This position involves various types of structural welding, including preparation, welding, and finishing operations. The applicant must be able to read, interpret, and understand detailed design prints and be in good physical condition to work in a steel fabrication shop environment. Responsibilities Work directly with the shop supervisor, customer, drafter, and peers to produce finished products. Interpret drawings and fit materials to print. Be proficient in modern welding techniques and equipment. Possess a good working knowledge of wire and filler material applications for various steel fabrication. Apply finish grinding using manual and power tools. Utilize knowledge of various machines, welding practices, mathematics, and building materials. Read and interpret drawings and specifications. Have working knowledge of welding shop operations. Be self-motivated, capable of working independently and performing well within teams. Maintain safety-conscious and good housekeeping practices. Work with minimum supervision and self-check for completeness and accuracy of work produced. Manage time effectively. Essential Skills Proficiency in welding techniques. Ability to read blueprints. Assembly skills. Experience with Brake Press. Fabrication knowledge. Additional Skills & Qualifications Must be 18+ years of age. Legally eligible to work in the United States. High School Diploma or GED. Forklift experience required. Assembly and welding experience is a plus. Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and future random drug testing.
