Proficiency in MIG welding, including setup, operation, and basic troubleshooting of welding equipment. Hands-on experience with flux core welding processes. Hands-on experience with hard wire welding processes. Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately, including dimensions, weld symbols, and tolerances. Experience working from detailed work orders and translating them into completed fabrication tasks. Background in non-production, custom or job-shop style welding rather than high-volume production welding. Competence with grinding and basic finishing operations on welded assemblies. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality welds and assemblies. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in a custom metal shop or fabrication environment handling varied and unique projects. Ability to work independently at a dedicated welding station with minimal direct oversight. Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of fitting and assembly techniques. Capability to adapt to changing priorities and different types of fabrication work as needed. Solid understanding of shop safety practices and proper use of personal protective equipment.
