Work Environment:
Work in an outdoor environment subject to changing & seasonal weather extremes. Employee must be able to perform job duties typical of an outdoor setting with appropriate climate controls. Tasks will require a variety of physical activities, generally involving muscular strength (must be able to lift 50lbs), such as walking, standing, stooping, sitting, reaching, talking, hearing, and seeing essential to performing required job functions. Eye, hand, and finger dexterity exist. Mental application utilizes memory for details, verbal instructions, emotional stability, discriminating thinking & creative problem solving.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform tasks involving physical labor at a construction site
- Clean & prepare sites, dig trenches, rake material, clean up rubble, debris & other materials
- Mowing & weed-eating of vacant lots
- Installing erosion control, LOD fencing, & temporary fence panels
- Clean storm drain boxes
- Assist with snow removal during the winter months
- Maintains equipment daily & controls the inventory in the crew work truck
- Fills out and turns in completed Work Orders daily
- Keeps accurate time records
- Assists in other duties as requested by the Forman & Superintendent
- Communication skills are required, as well as being able to stay on task & on schedule
- Assist in snow removals and laying concrete blankets in the colder months
- Work directly with onsite superintendents to support daily operations and project needs
- Demonstrate clear and effective communication with team members and supervisors.
- Provide excellent customer service by maintaining a professional and helpful attitude on the job site
- Collaborate within a team-oriented environment to ensure work is completed efficiently and safely
Qualifications:
- Must have valid Driver's License
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test
- Understand and operate various types of excavation equipment is helpful
