Precast Concrete General Laborer - Trenton, MI 20.00 per hour Opportunity for Overtime Career Growth Opportunity Job Description We are seeking a reliable and hardworking General Laborer to support daily operations in a precast concrete manufacturing environment. This role involves assisting with production, material handling, and maintaining a safe and organized work area. Responsibilities Build and assemble steel and wooden frames (molds) based on blueprints for concrete pours, working closely with carpenters and other team members. Use hand tools and power tools to assist in constructing wooden forms, installing frames, and preparing molds prior to concrete placement. Handle and move materials such as mesh sheets (up to approximately 100 pounds with a partner), rebar, wires, nuts, and bolts to supply form-building stations. Perform general labor tasks including sweeping, cleaning, and preparing wooden and steel forms for the next concrete pour. Assist in getting the plant ready for production each day, ensuring work areas, forms, and equipment are set up for continuous operations. Set up equipment used for casting bands and finishes according to job specifications and piece drawings. Place concrete on the casting bed in the correct locations to match piece drawings and specified dimensions. Essential Skills & Qualifications Previous construction and/or general laborer experience within a manufacturing facility. Mechanical aptitude with experience using power tools and hand tools in an industrial, construction, or similar environment. Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure for layout, cutting, and verifying dimensions. Capability to lift and move heavy materials, including assisting with mesh sheets weighing up to approximately 100 pounds as a two-person task. Comfort working from blueprints and piece drawings once trained, including following measurements and layout instructions. Experience working with concrete, including forming, pouring, or finishing. Strong teamwork skills and the ability to take direction from supervisors and experienced carpenters. Attention to detail when following specifications for form setup, bed layout, and finishing requirements. Why Work Here?
