Elliot Company, Inc. is seeking to hire a Diesel/Hydraulic Mechanic in the Nashville, TN area For over seven decades investor-owned utilities, municipalities, cooperatives, and others have entrusted their electrical construction and maintenance needs to Davis H. Elliot Company, Inc. (Elliot). Elliot is a full-service electrical contractor specializing in overhead and underground distribution, transmission, substations, lighting, traffic signaling, utility locating and industrial/commercial services. Job Description We are seeking a mechanic to perform the following: Conduct regular maintenance on machinery, systems, and automotive vehicles including tires and tracks Meet with crew members and leads to better understand their concerns and identify issues. Assemble mechanical components according to specs Examine machines and oversee diagnostic tests to determine functionality problems Design a plan of action for all maintenance equipment tasks and upgrades. Maintain work logs, repairs, and maintenance records Monitor inventory and order new parts when necessary Perform vehicle/equipment assessments and alert appropriate parties on issues that will prohibit their vehicle/equipment from operating correctly or passing an inspections Perform DOT inspections Qualifications Must provide own tools Experience in electrical, hydraulics, and diesel preferred Must have or be eligible to obtain a Class A CDL Must be willing to travel 40+ hrs a week expected Benefits/Culture Today, we are listed among Engineering News-Records Top 150 Specialty Contracting firms.
