Maintenance Technician Portage, IN | $30-$40/hour | All Shifts Available Overview Join a growing food manufacturing company as a Maintenance Technician supporting high-speed packaging and processing equipment in a clean, temperature-controlled facility. This role is primarily mechanical (70%) with electrical work (30%), requiring strong troubleshooting and preventative maintenance experience. Responsibilities Perform preventative maintenance on packaging equipment including conveyors, baggers, labelers, mixers, X-ray machines, and shrink equipment Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues (up to 480V) Diagnose and repair VFDs, PLCs (I/O), and HMI systems Maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems Troubleshoot sensors and photo eyes Complete MIG/TIG welding and basic fabrication Document work in MRP/CMMS systems Collaborate with production to reduce downtime and improve performance Follow GMP and safety standards Qualifications Experience with PLCs, VFDs, HMI systems, and 480V equipment Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and sensors Welding (MIG/TIG) experience preferred Experience in GMP environments Why Join Stable, growing company with expansion plans Consistent overtime (50-55 hours/week) Opportunity to work with advanced automation and packaging systems Long-term career growth Work Environment Clean, 200,000 sq. ft. facility with modern packaging equipment.
