CNC Machine Operator (Friday to Sunday 7pm to 7am) Job Description This role focuses on operating CNC machines to produce high-quality, straightforward production parts in accordance with print specifications while working under direct and ongoing guidance. You will learn and apply proper machining methods, safe work practices, and use of tools and equipment as you support production goals within a structured manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Operate CNC machines to produce quality production parts according to print specifications under direct and continued training. Follow written CNC programs to run machines and ensure parts meet dimensional and quality requirements. Perform simple machining operations as needed to support cell deliveries, working closely with more experienced team members for continual direction. Demonstrate and apply proper work methods, procedures, and safe work practices while using tools, equipment, and measuring instruments. Use precision measuring instruments, such as calipers and micrometers, to verify part dimensions with ongoing guidance. Support basic assembly-related tasks as required to meet production needs. Adhere to all rules, policies, and regulations outlined in the employee handbook. Perform additional tasks within the scope and skill level of the position as requested to support department objectives and broaden your skills. Follow CORE guidelines and complete CORE-related duties as required by the department. Comply with all Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) guidelines, including consistent use of required personal protective equipment (PPE). Maintain a clean and organized work area and handle tools and equipment in a safe, responsible manner. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to communicate issues, suggest improvements, and ensure production targets are met. Essential Skills Foundational knowledge of basic machine shop practices. Ability to operate CNC machines under direct guidance and follow written CNC programs. Basic machining and machine operation skills, including experience with lathes and machining centers. Ability to read and interpret blueprints with continued support and training. Competence in using basic shop mathematics to support machining operations. Ability to use precision measuring instruments, including calipers and micrometers, with ongoing guidance. General production and machine operating experience in a manufacturing environment. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds independently. Physical capability to bend, lift, squat, twist, reach overhead, stand on feet for extended periods (up to 8 hours), and climb stairs. Willingness to follow safety procedures and consistently wear required personal protective equipment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working with CNC machines and related machining equipment. Exposure to lathe operations and basic assembly tasks in a production environment. Comfort working under direct supervision and ongoing training while learning new processes and equipment. Attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts that meet specifications.
