We are currently seeking a EPIC ODB Engineer / Architect - Remote to join our team in PLANO, Texas (US-TX), United Stes (US).

An Epic Operional Dabase Engineer or Architect (ODBA) is responsible for the core Epic dabase infrastructure, which includes Chronicles (Epics proprietary hierarchical dabase) and its integrion with other dabase systems like Clarity and Caboodle. This role is highly technical and foundional, ensuring th Epics backend dabases are performant, scalable, and stable.

Chronicles Dabase Architecture and Maintenance:

• Design, configure, and maintain Epics Chronicles dabase structures.
• Ensure proper setup of master files, globals, and networked storage to support optimal performance and da integrity.
• Work with Epics tools and guidelines to manage da growth and optimize storage layout.
  
  

Performance Tuning and Monitoring:

• Continuously monitor the operional dabase for performance bottlenecks (CPU, I/O, cache hit res).
• Analyze and optimize global builds, journaling, indexes, and da access pterns.
• Collabore with Epic TS (Technical Services) and ECSA teams to fine-tune system performance.
  
  

Upgrades, Environment Builds, and Da Refreshes:

• Manage and support Chronicles da refreshes, including copying environments (e.g., PRD to TST/DEV) while ensuring da integrity.
• Participe in and support Epic upgrades and versioning processes from the backend/dabase side.
• Architect and autome dabase components of environment buildouts.

Da Integrion and Interoperability Support:

• Ensure seamless da flow between Chronicles, Clarity, Caboodle, and third-party systems.
• Support tools like Bridges, Interconnect, Cloverleaf, and Beaker th depend on efficient and secure dabase interactions.
  
  

Security, Compliance, and Disaster Recovery Planning:

• Implement and monitor dabase backup, restore, and journaling stregies to ensure high availability and disaster recovery readiness.
• Maintain tight control over access permissions, encryption, and HIPAA-compliant da practices.
• Participe in audits and ensure compliance with Epic and regulory standards

Required Qualificions

• 710+ years of experience supporting Epic as an ODBA, DBA, or dabase architect.
• Epic certificions in Chronicles, ODBA, or reled technical modules (e.g., Cache/IRIS).
• 710+ years ofDeep expertise with InterSystems Cache/IRIS, including globals, journaling, shadowing, and performance tuning.
• 710+ years of strong understanding of Epic architecture, including Hyperspace, Interconnect, Web Blob, and ancillary systems.
• 710+ years of Proficiency with Linux/UNIX administrion and shell scripting.
• 710+ years of Experience with highavailability architectures, clustering, SAN/NAS storage, and virtualizion.
• 710+ years of Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for complex, highvolume clinical systems.

Preferred Qualificions

• Experience with cloudbased Epic deployments (Azure, AWS, GCP).
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, containerizion, or infrastructureascode.
• Experience with enterprise monitoring plforms (e.g., Dynrace, Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana).
• Background in healthcare IT, clinical workflows, or EHR modernizion initiives.
• Experience leading major Epic upgrades, migrions, or performance remediion projects.
