Civil Engineer

Job Description

This Civil Engineer role offers the opportunity to perform a wide range of technical engineering assignments either independently or as part of a collaborative project team. The position supports projects in transportation, water and wastewater, municipal infrastructure, and land development, with responsibilities tailored to your level of experience and licensure status. The role is ideal for engineers who hold or are pursuing an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) license and who want to grow their skills through mentorship, diverse project exposure, and long-term career development within a well-established regional firm.

Responsibilities

  • Execute technical civil engineering tasks on projects in transportation, water and wastewater, municipal infrastructure, and land development, appropriate to your experience level and licensure status.
  • Develop, review, and modify engineering designs and plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D to support site development, roadway, utility, and infrastructure projects.
  • Contribute to civil design efforts including grading, drainage, stormwater management, and site layout in compliance with applicable codes, standards, and local regulations.
  • Support municipal engineering projects by preparing design documents, assisting with reviews, and coordinating with local municipalities and project stakeholders.
  • Assist with the design and analysis of water and wastewater systems, including pipelines, pump stations, and related infrastructure, as experience allows.
  • Participate in land development projects by preparing construction documents, coordinating with other disciplines, and helping to address permitting and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to deliver projects on schedule and within scope.
  • Prepare and update engineering drawings, reports, and supporting documentation to clearly communicate design intent and project requirements.
  • Apply engineering principles and judgment to solve technical problems and contribute to efficient, constructible, and cost-effective design solutions.
  • Engage in training and mentorship activities, including working with staff to progress toward EIT and PE licensure as applicable.
  • Support construction-related activities as needed, such as responding to field questions, reviewing shop drawings, or coordinating with inspection and construction management teams.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 2-15+ years of professional experience in civil engineering.
  • Experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D for civil design and drafting.
  • Experience or strong interest in land development, municipal engineering, water resources, or transportation engineering.
  • Foundational knowledge of civil engineering principles related to stormwater, drainage, grading, and site development.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a project team on technical assignments.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate engineering plans and documents.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and project stakeholders.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) credential preferred, or active pursuit of EIT/PE depending on experience.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a civil engineer or civil designer on projects involving land development, municipal infrastructure, water resources, or transportation.
  • Familiarity with stormwater management design, drainage systems, grading, and site development practices.
  • Exposure to municipal engineering work, including coordination with local municipalities and understanding of local regulations.
  • Experience or familiarity with related tools such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other civil design software.
  • Interest in construction inspection, land surveying, or construction management services is beneficial.
  • Motivation to pursue professional growth, including obtaining EIT and ultimately PE licensure with the support of mentoring and training.
  • Ability to adapt to working on multiple project types across transportation, water/wastewater, municipal, and land development sectors.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Center Valley, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $125000.00/yr.
