Job Title: Architectural Designer

Job Description

This role is ideal for an experienced Architectural Designer who enjoys working independently on large-scale multifamily and interior architecture projects, including healthcare, hospitality, and corporate interiors. You will lead the development of detailed construction document sets using Revit and AutoCAD, contribute to complex projects ranging from 250 to 500 units, and collaborate closely with a small, high-performing design team in a flexible, hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and documentation of multifamily projects ranging from 250 to 500 units, ensuring accuracy, constructability, and adherence to project requirements.
  • Develop complete construction document (CD) sets, including plans, elevations, sections, details, and schedules for interior and architectural scopes.
  • Use Revit to create, modify, and manage families, templates, and project models for large-scale projects.
  • Produce detailed production documents that clearly communicate design intent to consultants, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Design and document interior architecture for multi-family, healthcare, hospitality, and corporate interiors projects, including millwork and elevation drawings.
  • Collaborate with the design team to refine concepts into fully coordinated construction documents.
  • Coordinate with consultants and project partners to ensure alignment of architectural and interior design elements.
  • Apply knowledge of interior design and architecture to create functional, aesthetically pleasing, and code-compliant spaces.
  • Utilize AutoCAD, Revit, and other design tools such as SketchUp to support design visualization and documentation.
  • Manage project tasks independently, meeting deadlines and maintaining high quality standards with minimal supervision.
  • Support multiple projects simultaneously, adjusting to changing priorities and an increased workload when project volume rises.
  • Contribute to a collaborative studio culture by sharing expertise, mentoring less experienced team members when appropriate, and participating in design discussions.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in multi-family, healthcare, and/or hospitality interior design or interior architecture.
  • Proven experience working on multifamily projects with 250 to 500 units.
  • Proficiency in Revit, including creating and managing families and producing full construction document sets.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD for interior architecture and architectural documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently create complete construction document (CD) sets.
  • Strong experience in interior architecture and interior design for multi-family, healthcare, and hospitality projects.
  • Ability to develop detailed production documents, including plans, elevations, and millwork drawings.
  • Bachelors degree in Architecture or Interior Architecture.
  • Experience with large-scale projects requiring coordination across multiple disciplines.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and deliver work within typical 4045 hour weeks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with corporate interiors projects.
  • Familiarity with SketchUp for design visualization and conceptual studies.
  • Experience producing detailed millwork and elevation drawings.
  • Experience in hospitality interiors and related construction documentation.
  • Comfort working in a small, collaborative design team environment.
  • Strong communication skills for coordinating with clients, consultants, and internal team members.
  • Ability to adapt to hybrid work schedules and flexible hours.
  • Interest in long-term growth within a studio that offers autonomy and project ownership.

Work Environment

You will join a design team of approximately 11 people in a Class A office space located in a renovated church that has been converted to 100% commercial use. The studio environment is modern, recently renovated, and designed to support creative, collaborative work. The organization offers a hybrid work model, with employees typically coming into the office two times per week and otherwise enjoying flexible work arrangements. Typical workweeks are around 40 hours, with occasional variations up to 45 hours, and there is a strong emphasis on autonomy rather than rigid schedules. The firm provides free parking, 100% employer-paid healthcare, a 401(k) match, a bonus program based on projects, and discretionary spot bonuses. Designers and employees receive three weeks of vacation, nine recognized holidays, and additional paid time off between Christmas and New Years Day, resulting in more than five weeks of PTO annually. The studio culture values flexibility, work-life balance, and consistent recognition of contributions through bonuses and benefits. Technologies used include Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and standard office and design software within a professional studio setting.
