Job Description
Insight Global is supporting a mechanical contracting client in their search for an estimator to join their preconstruction team in the Chesapeake area. The Estimator role is to support HVAC, plumbing, and related mechanical scopes on complex commercial and industrial projects. This role is a key contributor to the preconstruction process, responsible for developing accurate, competitive, and strategic cost proposals. They will be expected to support estimating for commercial and industrial mechanical projects, from RFP review through final bid.

Excelbased estimates
subcontractor coordination
value engineering
supporting a smooth handoff to operations
maintain accurate cost data
Compensation: $80,000 -$95,000 annually. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Skills and Requirements
3-5 years working in industrial and commercial settings.
At least 2 years estimating
Proficient in mechanical estimating software (e.g. Fast pipe) and Microsoft Office.
Ability to read and comprehend construction drawings, schematics, and specifications.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines - Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred)
Prior field operations or mechanical/plumbing construction experience
