Electrician

Job Description

This role involves performing a wide range of commercial electrical tasks on a new construction project, including conduit work, wiring, fixture installation, and terminations. You will work from blueprints and schematics to install, repair, and maintain electrical systems in both interior and exterior areas of the site, ensuring safe and efficient operation at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Bend and install conduit, including completing approximately 200 feet of 3/4-inch conduit per day.

  • Pull wire and cable through conduit runs, ensuring proper routing, labeling, and organization.

  • Install electrical fixtures, lighting, and related components according to plans and specifications.

  • Perform electrical terminations safely and accurately, following industry standards and project requirements.

  • Read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics to determine layout, routing, and installation details.

  • Use standard electrical hand tools and a cordless drill to complete daily tasks efficiently.

  • Install and support rigid conduit in commercial and industrial environments.

  • Assist with troubleshooting and basic repairs of electrical systems as needed.

  • Follow all site safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and safe work practices around electrical systems, with no live wire work required.

  • Collaborate with other trades and team members to complete tasks on schedule and maintain a clean, organized work area.

  • Work overtime and weekends when required to meet project timelines and milestones.

Essential Skills

  • At least 45 years of electrical experience in a commercial setting.

  • Proficiency in bending conduit and performing conduit installations, including rigid conduit.

  • Demonstrated experience pulling wire, pulling cable, and running conduit in commercial or industrial environments.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical drawings.

  • Strong skills in installing lighting, fixtures, and other electrical components.

  • Experience performing electrical terminations and basic electrical installations and repairs.

  • Competence using standard electrical hand tools and a cordless drill.

  • Ability to follow safety procedures and use personal protective equipment consistently.

  • Capability to work both indoors and outdoors on a construction site.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working on new construction projects in a commercial or industrial environment.

  • Familiarity with commercial electrical systems and commercial electrical installations.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also contributing effectively to a team.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to completing work to a high standard.

  • Reliability and flexibility to work overtime and weekends when project needs require it.

  • Possession of all necessary personal tools and PPE, including equipment required for pipe bending.

Work Environment

This position is based on a new construction site in Bastrop, with work performed both indoors and outdoors depending on project needs. Standard hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to approximately 3:304:00 p.m., with overtime and Saturday work required as needed. You will work with standard electrical tools and a cordless drill, handling tasks such as conduit installation, wiring, and fixture installation in a commercial construction environment. The dress code requires steel-toe footwear, a safety vest, hard hat, and safety glasses to be worn at all times on site. The role involves physical, hands-on work in an active construction setting, with no live wire work performed.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bastrop, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $40.00/hr.
